Before the holiday season and everyone was getting ready to head out on vacation our company held a national teleconference to go over business priorities for 2009 as well updates on year end activities. It is that time of year for everyone to either host or attend various Holiday and Christmas functions with your friends or work. We were fortunate enough to attend a co-workers holiday party where they not only had christmas party games, but an actual magician. We all brought our kids and they loved having their own magician doing tricks and being part of the show. Even though we were right there and up close the illusions that he performed were quite amazing and the kids were trying to figure out how he did it. The best part is that he got them all involved in the act and no one was left out.

For the Christmas games they did a scavenegr hunt throughout the house based on the 12 days of Christmas. What was neat about this is that parents and kids teamed up and you were supposed to find items that were hidden based on the song “The 12 days of Christmas” They did not give you a list of those items so you had to know the song which was comical in itself as people were searching around the home singing various parts of the song. Will Facebook and Yahoo ever come to an agreement? The talks have been going for a few months, and appear to be getting closer. This was a huge step for Yahoo to gain a larger exposure in the Social Networking arena. It is amazing that the founder is a 22 year old college student and the site is only 18 months, and now being valued at close to $1 billion dollars. It will be interesting to see how the Social Networking grows, as there will sure to be more competitors to spring up. Will this eventually change the way interact with each other, and have the same impact as eMail?
Social networking sites typically allow users to create and share blogs, pictures and videos with friends and the wider public. I think they are just Blogs on Steroids, but a younger generation is running the show.
