I’m so bad about doing things at the very last possible minute. In some parts of life that doesn’t really affect me so much, but when it comes to school it really keeps me from getting good grades. But I’m determined not to let that happen again this semester. I have some classes that are a little tougher in my major and I don’t think that I could get away with studying at the last minute and at the very end of the semester for them anyway.

I was going to talk to my brother about some study tips when I saw him over the holidays but I kind of forgot about that. Why does it seem like everyone in my new state has hair that reaches the tallest skyscraper? I just moved here to Texas from California, and it seems like every person that I run in to has a major “bump-it” in their hair. Have you heard of those things? They’re this piece of plastic that you put underneath your hair (think of Cindy Lou Houin “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”) and then go out in to public with. I guess it’s a fashion trend here, although I’m not sure I’ll ever be jumping on this particular band wagon. I was talking to some guy about it the other night, and he said that it was weird when you go to kiss a girl on the top of their head and they feel like a bionic bunny or something. I really enjoy watching the Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan. I don’t own any dogs, but I know many people who do. I love dogs, and I have tried some of his techniques on my friends’ dogs, and much of the time, the things I have learned on the Dog Whisperer actually work!

Another reason I like watching this show is because it isn’t so technical that my young son doesn’t get anything from it. He really enjoys what he calls the ‘Doggy Show’ and what is really great about this show is that it’s helped him get over his fear of dogs after a friend’s puppy nipped him a few years ago. He’s learned that dogs really do learn and that they have feelings just like he does.

Cesar is the main human character on the show, with many others appearing while he is helping them manage their canine companions. Cesar is one of the warmest and sincerest personalities to appear on my tvbydirect.com these days, and that adds to his, and the show’s, charm. He genuinely cares about both people and dogs. I’m glad that I can add Cesar to my list of role models for my son, even if we’ll never meet in person.
