In the world of blogging there are many ways to generate revenue to help pay for the hosting and advertising of ones blog. When asked what has been our formula to pay the monthly expenses I simply reply that I have found an outlet to communicate with others and get paid to blog about the things that are of interest to me. Advertisers are seeing the value in consumer media and the blog has become an integral part of many marketing plans to reach out to different audiences and get the customer involved. I do not blog for to try and quite my job, but rather have some extra spending cash to provide some extra things for my kids and family.

I have tried to spread some of the knowledge and good fortune with friends and family through blogging. So through the past year I have acquired several domain names and set them up so that some of my friends and family can start their own blogs with a little boost rather than starting all the way from scratch. What a blessing this has been as they have really gotten into the whole blogging scene and the extra cash and knowledge has been a huge help to their families. I look forward to helping others find the world of blogging and creating their own niche and who knows maybe some day I will join the like of Paying Post as being seen as channel to connect bloggers and advertisers.

One of the greatest movies that I have watched is Rocky. The release of the 6 th and final episode will hopefully bring to a close a movie that shows that the underdog can win. One of the greatest quotes from Mickey ” You’re gonna eat lightnin’ and you’re gonna crap thunder! The first two were the best then they started to trail off as the characters seemed to get weaker. Although, I will admit that Rocky 5 brought everything home and to see Rocky end back where he started with the same mannerisms was quite good.
Now with the last Rock installment you can see the trailer online at movie trailers, and get a good view of what to expect. I can’t wait to see how he ends the movie, since it will be in theaters starting tomorrow there was some speculation that Rocky may actually die in the ring. Adrian!! It is amazing to think that Sly Stallone wrote the original script in just under three days, and now look at the legacy he has created. They have a great selection of movie clips, and some outtakes videos which is quite hilarious.

nonprofitIn this day and age many companies are looking to do more with less and the economic slowdown has had a huge impact on national and local non-profit organizations. Because many of these organizations rely on volunteers to help in their day to day operations, donations, and overall operating budgets they can sometimes find themselves in tough times without the expertise to help guide them through. In our area we are fortunate enough to have a Shriners hospital that provides free medical care to children. Through volunteer health care providers and long time investments that have been made possible through donations the Shriners hospitals have been a shining light for many families that have needed surgery and special needs for their children and could not afford the care. Now that the economy has slowed down the contributions and investments that has kept them open is now threatening to close several of the hospitals.
There are organizations like nesc or the National Executive Services Corps where local executives from major corporations help to provide consultation to non-profit organizations to help them with operational issues. They can also help to provide nonprofit strategic planning which can be a huge help in this day and time to help local organizations find ways to maximize their current operating budgets and find new ways to fund day to day operations. These local business experts can also help local non-profits to develop ways to brand their organization that will enable them to increase their presence in the community and help to recruit other volunteers that will assist them in their day to day planning and fund raising.

There is a term that is used called public domain. So the theory is that if it exists and is general knowledge can you then recreate it or publish on your site or through any other forms of communications. In the case that was in question, the plaintiff had received some information via an email, and then published the identical content on forums. This does not however give away the rights of articles that are filed and protected under copyright laws. Many authors on blogs, and websites will publish their content. This is something that is starting to gain traction, as the availability of broadband and video-editing software becomes more prominent. The use of a video resume and could be just the edge you need to get the in-person interview. With the like of YouTube, and Google video, more and more people are uploading videos of themselves acting out music videos, so it only makes since to use the medium to get a job.

A few key points to consider when posting a resume video. It should be short, usually three minutes, and specific to the opportunity for which you are seeking. You should treat it just like you would for a live interview, so no reading off of a script. Remember to rehearse before posting your online video as you never know who may be watching. There are several job sites, that are now tailoring to this new way of posting your resume. And even some large employers such as AT&T and Home Depot are using this as another tool to identify candidates.

In my line of work we receive reports weekly that show us how our business unit is doing compared to others across the region and nation as well as how we are doing against the competition. Being able to understand the large amount of data and make it usable in our day to day interactions is the key to successful market share growth. My job as a manager is to be able to look at the data and then dive into the finer points to identify trends and then create strategy and tactics to either continue the positive trend or correct one that is headed in the wrong direction.
The other key success factor to understanding business data is having the right information at the right time so that your sales and marketing people can make informed decisions today. You can have the most extensive data set with all the information you would ever need to take over the market, but if it is not readily available in a ready to use format the information is useless. As a manager one of my roles is to take the business reports and boil them down to a few key areas so that my team can make better judgments when they are in front of their customers. I have seem people suffer from what I call “paralyzes by analyzes” This is where you look at the data for so long that you never act or create any tactics on how to implement the information you have to improve your business.

There are many analytical tools that you can use such as Microsoft Objects, Crystal reports that allow you to build queries  on your data sets to help provide better projections of future outcomes. Moving for the holidays

No one likes to move especially during the holidays. There are several different option that are available depending on the distance needed to move and your budget. You can rent a moving truck and invite your buddies to help you move and then hop in the big rig and drive it to your destination. The cost is the truck, fuel and pizza and beer for your crew. Or if you have the budget or it is a company relo than you can have the complete package where the company comes in and packs and moves everything for you. My family has moved on several occasions and have rented our fair share of moving trucks that were either automatic or standard and driven them across town and across the country. I remember in one move where we were relocating from Texas to Washington State and my Dad had to drive the rental truck over two mountain passes. That was long drive and we learned that a family can spend too much time together.

At companies like ABF UPack Moving they provide the truck and drivers and you just pack your stuff. They deliver the trailer or ReloCube which is a moving container and then load it up. They will then pick it up and deliver to the new location. Winter is almost here

In the Northwest the ski areas are starting to get snow and that means that winter is almost here. While most people hate the snow it is a great time for those of who love to ski. This year my kids will be skiing for their second year so we will be heading up to some of the local mountains like Silver Moutain, 49 Degrees North, and Schweitzer. We got them their new ski gear and outerwear so that even during the colder days they will stay comfortable. We got my daughter a purple snow jacket from the The North Face company which is one of the leaders in ski and snowboard wear.
