Does Google penalize for affiliate sites

We wanted to continue on our topic on Affiliate marketing and what to consider when heading down that path. The biggest thing we have found is that you need your own website, and then link to the affiliate opportunities, otherwise your pages will never get indexed by Google. And Google has said that they will eventually stop indexing affiliate type pages.

The affiliate marketing or associate program, has become an increasingly popular way to earn extra cash on the web by promoting individual web sites. These programs can seem quite intimidating initially, however, educating yourself about affiliate marketing basics can ease the confusion of a seemingly complex situation. One of the first decisions you must make is whether you would like to become an affiliate, acquire affiliates, or do both. Starting your own affiliate program is an ideal option if you operate an e-commerce web site since the affiliate traffic may increase your sales. If you own a personal content site it is a wise choice to join affiliate programs to bring in some extra money. It is eventually up to you to decide what is best for your interest and website, based on how much money and effort you are willing to expend.

As you begin learning affiliate marketing basics, it is quite simple to become an affiliate. First, you must visit an affiliate network web site and complete a member application. In the world of link exchange there are a number of ways in which to enhance your back links as well as increase your Page Rank and search engine visibility. One of the best ways is to have others link back to your site or blog because of a featured article or product that you sell. There are so called link farms which have a mixed review based on the techniques that are used. Google’s algorithms apparently give a higher weighting to those links that are embedded in a site as they are typically hand entered and they see this as a vote of confidence. There are many things that you can do to foster relationships with your key customers such as sending them thank yous after appointments, sending birthday cards to them and their staff, and knowing what they like to do outside of the workplace. When sending cards I would highly recommend that you customize and spend the extra few dollars so that the customer feels that you took the time acknowledge their special event. Sending a customized birthday or special event card with your companies branding on it can help create goodwill and foster that business relationship. While the most common use of id badge holders may be for identification at conventions or large trade shows there are many other day to day uses that we have uncovered.

* Medical Staff identification – in hospitals and clinics your id card needs to be visible to other staff and patients as well as protected from fluids that are common place in a hospital or clinic
* Federal and State government identification – staffers and employees of both state and federal government are dealing with sensitive information and having their id’s visible and possibly tagged with various colors to help security and others know who should be in designated areas.
* Conference attendee identification – These id cards are typically used to identify the participants and can help trade show vendors see who is visiting their booth  so that they can follow up after the visit with possible prospects id cards at a trade show are more used as a name tag and introduction to who you are. This is where conference organizers will order wholesale lanyards that will then be customized with the conference name or the name of the platinum sponsor.

Its time to replace your watch

This appears to be the style of having a more glitzy more noticeable watch. I have had Seiko Watches both with a leather band and steel band and would probably love to have another steel band watch. They seem to hold up better and take a little more abuse and still look great for casual or formal wear. I have had Seiko in the past mostly because this was one of the first time pieces that I received from my Dad. So as I make my recommendations to my wife and kids on what to get Dad for Christmas I hope to get that new steel band watch with the really cool blue face. Just a hint though!

Staying dry

We are staying up late to watch the 5th game of the World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Tampa Bay Rays. While we are nice and dry at home you can see the rain falling and soaking the field, players , and the fans. If the Phillies win the rain will not be a big deal. You can see many of the fans in their clear plastic rain coats that they probably paid $20 each just to try and stay dry. Many of those in the luxury boxes probably came to the game in their nice designer mens raincoats which offer both style and function. As the game continued the rain did not let up and actually got delayed which is the first time in World Series history. These will come in handy for the after game celebration as the Phillies look to clinch their first World Series in 25 years which will hopefully happen sometime this week. Game 5 will continue in the next day or so after the rain delay and hopefully the game will have the same intensity as it has had in the last few meetings.

Are Cost per click ads still working

We offer some CPA advertisers on some of our sites. The main vendors we deal with are QCLix and Azoogle. Their payouts for some CPA offers are as high as $50. That sure beats the .50 to $1 you may receive via ads that run on your sites. We believe there will be a great synergy between the two forms of advertising, and have found that they can co-exist on the same site. We look to follow this closely, as to help monetize the traffic that we are currently seeing on our main web pages.
